World Marriage Day

Today we (the church) celebrate World Marriage Day.

“for better or worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health…”

Marriage is a promise to be Yin and Yang; to embrace Joy/Suffering, Mundane/Divine as One-and-the-same together. A tender, vulnerable reflection of the nature of Love, but also Life itself….a perpetual responding to the vibrations of Harmony in the Universe….

Marriage is a Sacrament, just like baptism and Holy Orders, A sacrament is an outward and visible sign of the Grace of God in our Lives.
It marks your soul.

Blank – I lost it

I ve lost it. Im not giving up. It is just not there anymore.

I used to be able to sit down and write prose, poems etc. in a matter of minutes. I used to feel and sense great insight, which sometimes I was able to put to words or paintings. .
I used to be able to spend long hours in silent meditation/prayer while I painted or while I just sat, and would feel a communion with God and all his Creation and willingly shared with whomever I could.
Now…I don’t have time, and on the days I do I dont remember what to do.
Like now..oh but I only have ten minutes before I need to leave for work.
It is 8:15. I got up early and read the first reading at 6:30 a.m. Mass. David manipulated Uriah’s death – killed on the front lines, because he, David had slept with and made a child with Uriah’s wife. This in itself used to inspire me (not the David story necessarily, but I meant getting up early and going to 6:30 a.m. Mass.

WHen I got home this I was preoccupied with rescheduling our MRI appt on Monday, finding the information on our new prescription coverage and send it to our new Dr so we don’t have to pay $100 for the new medication again… Still havent done that. Still havent had breakfast, or exercised or …
I will have to work at home this weekend to be able to finish 2 projects due on/before Wednesday.
I’ve lost it. Cant find it. I’m not giving up…but it certainly seems to be gone.

Update on Him: New Parkinson’s Doctor

We saw an actual Parkinson’s specialist yesterday – not just a *neurologist with a specific interest in Parkinson’s as we have been seeing. I have heard there are only 4 like this Dr in the US, perhaps even in the world, and 3 of them are here in Dallas. I don’t know if that is true. I did a brief web search to see if I could verify it but couldn’t. I don’t really want to spend any more time on it, if it is true, I am sure I will see it written somewhere, if not that is ok too. He is located at University of Texas Southwestern, a world-renowned teaching hospital. All he does is Parkinson’s. We are fortunate to have him managing our case. It will be September before we actually see him again, but we will have monthly visits with his Physician’s Assistant. He is making some changes in Him’s meds which will happen slowly over the next three months. We will be tapering off one drug, and hopefully it will not be too difficult, however, all change, particularly changes in meds can be extremely difficult is on a person with Parkinson’s disease. They don’t call it a movement disorder for nuthin’ )

He had some blood tests done yesterday, looked like some vitamin levels, thyroid, proteins, things you don’t see on your annual physical blood work, it is one that Medicare will only pay for once a year, and that is all I know about that. He will also have an MRI on his brain on Monday. This will be the first MRI specifically on his head that he has had in probably 10 years. Then he will go for a complete neurological/psychological profile ie., memory loss and brain function profile in 6 months. It takes that long to get an appointment. The test will take about 6 hours. The doctor did a brief assessment of this in his office yesterday and Him passed with flying colors – almost 100%; however, something I had said (acckk!) had prompted the doctor to want to do a deeper evaluation just in case. I felt really bad, but it is good to have these things checked out. I watch Him like a hawk, and I know worry about him too much. I have gotten better about this over this past year. I was not blessed with children, but I suppose it is like having a child – a tall hairy bony one with a driver’s license. I heard a speaker once say something like…your children are proof that our bare, tender hearts do actually walk around outside of our bodies. I know the feeling now.

*Him’s neurologist he has seen for the past 12 years has retired – actually he is a naval reservist and has some commitments to the US Navy that will prevent him from practicing medicine for the next 3 years or so. As much as Him has really liked this Doctor and done well under his care, it is time for him to see this specialist as he moves into the advanced stages of the disease.

surely you are a grandmother by now?
twice, I convinced myself I’d be able to have another

this Eve angel-izes!
My ex-boss, and very good friend, told me to survive in today’s work environment I had to be relevant.
I asked him “what does that mean?” he said it “do the work that nobody else wants to do”
It occurred to me…I already do.
I am an evangelist.
Dont get paid for it but nonetheless this eve-angel-izes! :O)
